General Questions

  • What credentials must be shown when shooting at LPRG ranges?

    In order to shoot at any of the ranges at LPRG you must produce one of the following credentials:

    • Valid US Passport
    • Valid US Driver’s License
    • Valid California Identification Card
    • US State issued Hunting License or Permit
    • US Permanent Resident Green Card
  • How do I know if the ranges are open?

    If you are travelling a long way to shoot at the range, or during times of inclement weather, we suggest you call the appropriate range office ahead of time  to check that the ranges are open.

  • Do you rent firearms?

    No – the club does not have any firearms for rent.

  • Do you have firearms training classes?

    The club has regular firearms training classes which are provided by third parties.

  • What is the cost of membership?

    The initiation fee is $200 and annual dues are $200. Dues are paid yearly and members shoot at reduced rates. More Information

  • Where can I find information on the Archery Range?

    The ARCHERY Range is no longer available.


    Due to very low use of the Archery Range, the high cost of maintaining the Archery Range targets and the inability to have an RSO on duty (for safety), the Rifle Pistol Range Committee and the Board of Directors have decided to close the Archery Range as of May 1, 2017.


    Please accept the Clubs sincere regret at this decision.

Rifle-Pistol Range Questions

  • Do you rent firearms?

    No – the club does not have any firearms for rent.

  • What type of targets are allowed on the Rifle and Pistol ranges?

    Effective June 1, 2017: Only bullseye type targets will be allowed on the LPRGC Rifle and Pistol Ranges.


    Silhouette, zombie, Darkotic, animal, cartoon figures, pictures etc. will not be allowed.

  • What are the rules regarding minors/children?

    Livermore Pleasanton Rod and Gun Club has adopted the following age requirements and rules.

    • All shooters must pay associated fees..
    • One shooting bench will be assigned to one Adult with minor or minors.
    • Minors under 6 years of age are not allowed on range.
    • All Minors will be under direct supervision of a blood relative or guardian the entire time that the Minor is using a firearm. Minors are not allowed to roam the Range area without Adult supervision (no exceptions will be allowed).  The parent/guardian must complete the Youth Firearm Permission Slip and Release of Liability form (available cashier’s window) prior to shooting.  A copy of BOTH the parent/guardian AND the blood relative driver’s license must be attached to this form.

    Age for use of firearms (no exceptions other than what is stated below).

    • 6 to 8 Years of Age – BB Rifle or Airsoft Only
    • 8 to 10 Years of Age – Rimfire Rifle Only (17hmr or 22)
    • 11 to 12 Years of Age – Rifles only
    • 13 to 17 Years of Age – Rifles or Handguns (see Note 1)
    • 18 to 20 Years of Age – Any Rifle (no restriction) or Handgun when accompanied by a shooter 21 years or older (exception made for active military)
    • 21 Years of Age or older – Any Rifle or Handgun

    Note 1: Minor and Adult must be on same shooting station. Adults with Minors are responsible for the actions of the minors on the range. Minors that are handling firearms unsupervised will be asked, along with the Adult to leave the range, no refund will be given.
